Job Description

Our development team is in search of a Software Documentation Specialist to help ensure the delivery of high-quality software that will serve both our internal staff and our agents within the industry.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Creating and publishing release notes as needed for production releases
  • Participating in planning and daily standups to ensure an understanding of product additions so that they can be accurately documented for staff, agents, and developers
  • Updating existing product software documentation to ensure accuracy of newly released product features
  • Working with other groups within Ritter to coordinate department additions to the documentation site
  • Creating product feature videos when needed
  • Assisting with quality assurance as needed
  • Working with Developers as needed to maintain Ritter documentation website
  • Helping to write effective UI text for application interfaces

Skills / Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of education in Computer and Information Sciences, Writing or related field, or equivalent job experience
  • Thorough knowledge of computers, software applications, and technical writing disciplines
  • Understanding of software development life cycle
  • Experience with docs-as code, GitHub, and Hugo or other static site generators desired
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
